Our Private Equity strategy seeks to generate above-average returns through buyout investments and through the active development of our portfolio companies. We invest mainly in lower-mid market companies in German-speaking Europe (Germany, Switzerland, and Austria).
Through this strategy, we take controlling stakes in privately-held companies that operate in fragmented sectors or specific niches, where we can implement buy & build, international expansion, operational enhancement, and/or digital transformation strategies, aimed at strengthening the companies’ positioning and increasing their relevance, size, and financial performance.
While our Private Equity strategy is industry-agnostic and focused essentially on a company’s situation and potential, we tend to invest in sectors such as manufacturing, business services, construction, and consumer products and services.
Our Private Equity team has over 18 years of professional experience, including as CEOs, CFOs, and division managers. That means we have an in-depth understanding of the challenges that small and mid-sized companies face, combined with empathy towards the company’s owners, their circumstances, and their needs.
Our Private Equity strategy is open to qualified investors. It is designed for diversification through holdings in six to ten platform companies. Each investment is supplemented over time by one to four add-on investments. The Strategy typically holds and develops investments over a period of four to seven years. We target the best exit strategy while taking into account the interests of all stakeholders: not just investors but also employees, customers and the community alike.
