The Swiss Healthcare Properties Investment Group of Patrimonium Investment Foundation has made an investment of approximately CHF 33.1 million in the development of a senior centre in Buchrain (LU), thereby strengthening its targeted commitment to the growing Swiss healthcare market. On the former Tschannwiese site, Oase Buchrain is being developed as a modern center, offering assisted living and care services and addressing an existing supply gap in the region.
The project comprises a total of 48 care beds as well as 40 accessible senior apartments with 1.5-, 2.5- and 3.5-room layouts. The residential and care concept combines independent living with comprehensive nursing and household services available around the clock. The offering is complemented by a public restaurant, communal and fitness areas, physiotherapy, and other health-related services.
The groundbreaking ceremony on the 20th of March 2026 marked the official start of construction. The senior centre is scheduled to become operational in spring 2028. The project is being developed under a building lease on a centrally located plot and benefits from excellent accessibility as well as high demand for age-appropriate housing and care services in the Lucerne region.
The centre will be operated by the Oase Group, an experienced provider in the field of senior living and care. In collaboration with DOMUM, which develops intergenerational housing concepts, an comprehensive residential and care concept is being implemented, offering residents long-term security and flexibility within the same environment.
With this investment, the Swiss Healthcare Properties Investment Group continues to consistently implement its strategy of investing in clinics, retirement and care homes, as well as senior living across Switzerland. The focus lies on long-term direct investments with stable rental agreements in regions benefiting from demographic trends, market concentration, or limited access to healthcare services.
“We are pleased with the development of this project, which marks the beginning of a collaboration between Patrimonium Investment Foundation and the operator: OASE Group,” says Vivian Moreau, Portfolio Manager.
Following this acquisition, the market value of the Swiss Healthcare Properties Investment Group’s portfolio stands at over CHF 600 million.
