B+G Schweiz AG, the Swiss landscaping and gardening company held by Patrimonium Private Equity and EGS Beteiligungen AG, announces the acquisition of TERRA Gartenbau AG, an established company in the field of landscaping and gardening. The acquisition enables market entry in the regions of Zurich Oberland and Eastern Switzerland – as part of the group’s national growth strategy.
With the acquisition, B+G Schweiz AG succeeds in entering Switzerland’s largest economic region, and in integrating the many years of experience of yet another company with strong regional roots and network.
As in other European countries, the Swiss landscaping and gardening market is highly fragmented, dominated by regional players. An overall positive context and changing customer behavior offer it attractive growth prospects.
Since the acquisition of Bächler + Güttinger AG by Patrimonium Private Equity and EGS Beteiligungen AG in December 2021 and the creation of B+G Schweiz AG as a holding company, six additional acquisitions have been realized: Berger Roman AG and Egger AG in the Solothurn region, the companies Menétrey SA and Nova Concept Piscines et Jardins SA in western Switzerland, Hasler Gartenbau GmbH in northwestern Switzerland and now TERRA Gartenbau AG.
With over 500 employees, the group now generates annual sales of over CHF 100 million.
The acquisitions have positive effects for all parties involved. The companies, located in adjacent regions, can draw on the group’s resources and take on more demanding projects. For the employees, broader perspectives and new opportunities for further development are created. The group network enables synergies and efficiency gains in procurement and in the digitalization of processes (in customer acquisition and service, procurement and organization).
Werner Schnorf, Chairman of the Board of Directors of B+G Schweiz AG and Managing Director of Patrimonium Private Equity adds: “The merger brings positive effects for all sides. Together in the group, it is easier to provide the services required by the market. At the same time, all employees take advantage of the new training and development opportunities created.”
Besides B+G Group, also Grouplink (IT services – Germany), Hübner KTB (surface technology – Germany), Roth Group (building insulation and fire protection – Switzerland), and Octo Actuators (electric drive systems – Germany) compose Patrimonium Private Equity Fund‘s portfolio.
Patrimonium Private Equity pursues an active value enhancement approach and increases the relevance of its portfolio companies in their industry. An overview of the overall portfolio can be found here.
